Dr. Chambers Speaks About Climate Task Force

Dr. Chambers, director of the Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Energy Center, spoke this week on local news channel KADN after he was appointed to be a member of the Climate Initiatives Task Force. Dr. Chambers explains that "the task force was established to help identify pathways for the state of Louisiana to achieve the governor's goals with regard to net greenhouse gas emissions." As part of the Energy Institute of Louisiana at UL Lafayette, Dr. Chambers will be able to contribute from his expertise on solar energy, one type of renewable energy. The task force is made up of other officials, scientists, and members whose collective aim will be to address different parts of the economy including infrastructure, transportation, agriculture, etc. For more information, see Governor Edwards' announcement about the Climate Initiatives Task Force.
